Timing, It Matters in Life, and Baseball.
Timing is the ultimate secret to life.
Think of a baseball player hitting a home run. There has to be an exact pitch so the batter’s swing can hit the ball. The batter has to swing the bat a specific way to get the angle correct for maximum loft and distance. Also, his swing has to be at the exact right moment to hit the ball at the optimal time.
I am a firm believer in the idea that everything happens right when it is supposed to happen. Baseball players hit home runs when the pitch and swing are timed perfectly. Two people who are ready for love always end up magically find each other. Things go wrong in the worst of ways when you are ready to learn the lesson of how to make things work in the right way.
This is not to say that you shouldn’t continuously take action and risks, but do not force your hand, let it happen naturally. Always swing for the fence, and if you miss, then you miss, but at least you tried with the expectation you are going to see more pitches and are not dependent on hitting a home run every time. If you try and force things to happen, the only end up failing. Take your confidence and your standards to the plate, try what you must to hit a home run, but players don’t hit home runs every at bat, and nor can they expect to.
The most important thing that you can do for yourself if be prepared for your side of things. If you are that baseball player, all you can is anticipate your pitch and swing appropriately. If the pitcher throws you different pitch and in a different location than you anticipated, then it is not your pitch. You can’t hit a home run unless it all comes together, and eventually things always do come together.

You can’t hit home runs every at bat you try, but you sure will find a way to hit some. It could be off a different pitcher, it could be on a different pitch, and it might take awhile, but the feeling of knocking the ball out of the park is always worth it.
